Blue Bird Group’s biggest fleet consists of the Toyota Limo taxi ( of which there are three generations ), but they also operate other budget taxis, such as the Nissan Almera ( which I didn’t spot in Bali ), and in the not-too-distant-past, the Toyota Soluna ( which they have since retired from their fleet ).
Besides the regular Blue Bird and Pusaka taxis, the company also operates a ‘luxury’ division called Silver Bird. I didn’t see a Silver Bird taxi in Bali, because according to the info on their website, they only serve a select number of five-star hotels in Jakarta and Surabaya, in addition to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport ( a.k.a Jakarta Intl. Airport ). Silver Bird taxis consist of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class, Toyota Alphard and Vellfire, and Toyota Camry Altise units.
And it’s not just taxis either, Blue Bird Group also provides a limousine and car rental service under their Golden Bird and Pusaka Prima Transport divisions. But if I’m honest, you’ll ( tourists ) have to be really, really brave, patient, skilled and experienced to drive in Bali, or Indonesia in general.
Last but not least, there’s also the Big Bird division, which as its name suggests, operates bigger vehicles; chiefly charter buses, from 10-seater minibuses to 54-seater full-size buses.
